Scott D. Butler, CLU Scott Butler celebrated his 18th anniversary with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network - Maryland in June 2007. He was appointed Field Director in 1996. Scott joined the Emerging Leaders Program in 1997, taking on the role of Assistant General Agent. In 2000 and 2001 he was recognized as one of the leading Field Directors within the Network system, and his unit was ranked among the top 10 in 2002. In August 2002, Scott opened a new District Network office as the Managing Director in Ellicott City, MD. His role now blends serving as Managing Director for Ellicott City and Director of Development for the entire group. In addition to his organizational leadership, Scott has been a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table for the last eight years. Scott is the proud father of two delightful girls. He enjoys coaching his girls’ soccer teams, and he volunteers once a week at the Living Classrooms Foundation in downtown Baltimore City. As a member of the Fresh Start program within Living Classrooms, he mentors less-privileged young adults in goal setting, studies and life preparation, creating a life-by-design environment. John Horrigan John Horrigan has been with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network—Maryland since June 2001. He is a graduate of Towson University. John’s role at Northwestern is twofold. First, he helps young representatives grow and realize their full potential. As Managing Director in the Annapolis District, John oversees all operations and development efforts in the Annapolis area. The second aspect of John’s career is to focus on and build his personal business clientele. John’s mission is to help create financial security for a lifetime with his clients. John is married to his high school sweetheart, Jennifer. In July of 2007, John and Jennifer had their first daughter, Riley. He also has a great staff, headed up by Barbara Logan, who has worked in the insurance industry for more than 25 years. John’s team also includes Lovena Breeden (Director of Recruiting), Rebecca Ziemski (Marketing Coordinator), Craig Ulep (Support) and Michael Haertel (Investment Operations). Tricia Hamilton Tricia Hamilton joined the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network-Maryland organization in March 2001 as Chief Operating Officer. She is responsible for the operations, growth and development of all aspects of the business, including the core product areas and the Network Departments. Before joining NMFN-MD, she was Executive Director for Earth Treks, Inc., a company she helped grow from a two-person start-up to an established company with more than 100 employees. Tricia began her career in organizational development at Outward Bound, where she facilitated team-building and wilderness challenge activities for corporate groups. She has a wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters. Jeffrey Crosley Jeff Crosley began his career as a Financial Representative for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network – Maryland in 2001. He graduated from the University of Baltimore. Before joining NMFN-MD, he worked at Earth Treks, Inc. In August 2004 he assumed the role of Field Director in the Baltimore office. His vision and drive help build his business and lead new Financial Representatives. Jeff focuses on growing and developing both the Baltimore Network Office and his personal business clientele. He also spends time each week volunteering at the Living Classrooms campus with students in the Fresh Start program. Jeff lives in Baltimore with his wife, Heather. Dan Schiffman Dan Schiffman started his career with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in 1998. He is currently a Financial Representative and Field Director overseeing development in Central/ Western Maryland and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Dan has been recognized as one of the top Field Directors in the Northwestern Mutual system. His personal mission statement is “To provide purposeful leadership for caring people to attain the freedom of financial security”. Dan is married to Dr. Lori Gochenour. They reside in Hagerstown, MD. He is deeply involved in his community as a sitting member on the boards of Advocates for Homeless Families and The Maryland Shakespeare Festival. Dan is also a member of the Special Gifts Committee for Frederick Memorial Hospital and past president of the Entrepreneur Council of Fredrick. His industry affiliations include membership in the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and the Million Dollar Round Table, for which he has qualified each year. David Ziegler Dave Ziegler began his Northwestern Mutual Financial Network – Maryland career in August 1999. After three years as a Financial Rep, he was promoted to Field Director in the Baltimore office in 2002. Dave’s business practices and personal values are based on our mission statement, “To enrich the lives of those we serve.” Dave volunteers one morning a week at the Living Classrooms Foundation, mentoring Fresh Start students. He lives in Manchester with his wife, Christina. Cynthia Huber, CLU, ChFC Cyndi Huber has worked with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network – Maryland organization since November 1991. As Director of Training, Cyndi has the pleasure of conducting initial training for all new associates. As Technology Coach, she works with Financial Representatives and Associates to integrate technology into their daily practice for effective and efficient operations. Cyndi holds a Maryland life and health insurance license, is a Registered Representative of NMIS and has completed the requirements for the CLU and ChFC designations. She is married with two young sons. Beth Jones, FLMI, CLU Beth Jones joined Northwestern Mutual Financial Network - Maryland in November 1995 as the Investment Operations Manager. In 1997, Beth moved into the role of Office Manager and in 2002, she was promoted to Director of Network Office Supervision. Beth is a contracted Associate Financial Representative, a General Securities Principal, a General Securities Sales Supervisor and a Registered Investment Advisor. Her role in our organization is to maintain compliance as a competitive advantage. Beth is happily married with two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family and reading novels. She is studying to complete her ChFC designation. Brendan Meagher Brendan resides in Roland Park, MD, with his wife and two sons. His other interests include lacrosse, historical architectural preservation and film. Robert G. Chomo Robert entered into the employee benefits industry in 1999, where he began his career in Annapolis with The Avedon Group. He joined Employee Benefit Services in the fall of 2005. Rob graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1995 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree. Robert, his wife Chrissie and two daughters reside in Annapolis. In his free time, Rob enjoys Golf, coaching high school lacrosse and spending time with his family. Ryan Sullivan After graduating from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Ryan joined Unum as a sales representative in Columbia, MD. Once exposed to the employee benefits arena, he joined a small benefits brokerage firm in Annapolis, MD where he began to grow his business and learn the complexities of group medical insurance. Ryan would soon be approached by Northwestern Mutual to help run the Baltimore operation of Employee Benefit Services. Ryan, along with his associates, continue to strengthen the presence of Employee Benefit Services in the Mid-Atlantic Region by both acquiring new clients and retaining current relationships. Leo Gallagher Leo is in his 6th year in the employee benefits industry. After graduating from the University of Baltimore, Leo began his sales career with Black and Decker. During his career with Black and Decker, Leo was a sales representative, a territory sales manager, and a channel marketing manager. In 2002, Leo left the hardware industry to start his career in the employee benefits industry, with Assurant Employee Benefits. After 4 successful years of selling ancillary benefits, Leo joined Employee Benefit Services in December of 2005.
